Time for a new unit!

With only 3 weeks remaining until the start of a new nine weeks, it is time to get focused and start getting into the 6th grade flow.

We will be beginning unit 2 this week.

I want to take a second to say that I am super impressed with the unit 1 test scores and want to think all my students for working as hard as you did to accomplish the grades you received. You deserved them. :)

Monday Elements of plot -     Plot structure notes and discussion in reader’s notebook

Tuesday -          Plot Structure practice  -- “Day & Night” and “ For the Birds -          Halloween Grammar games ( team 1 vs. team 2)

Wednesday -          Pixar Plot Structure #3- “ Partly Cloudy” -          “Dog of Pompeii” lit book- pg. 30-40 -       Listen to story and story map the plot structure

Thursday -          (I will be absent for training) -          Finish listening to “Dog of Pompeii” (if needed) -              Questions and summary

Friday -          Suffix Quiz #1 -          Library -          Halloween Grammar Games

Homework this week…

-          Study Suffix and vocabulary -          Read 20 minutes of AR -          Finish unfinished classwork (if due for a grade)
